Realtek Audio Console can't connect to RPC service

Bijgewerkt op: 10 mrt. 2022

If you have been getting above error while trying to use Realtek Audio Console, you are not the only one.

I was getting the error on below configuration in 2019.

  • Windows 10 Pro, version 1809 (OS Build 17763.437)

  • Realtek High Definition Audio, UAD edition, version 6.0.1.8668

  • Realtek Audio Console, version 1.2.174.0

But now that I'm writing this in March of 2020 with Windows 10, version 2004 (OS Build 19577, I was still getting the annoying error.

This is how I resolved the issue step-by-step

I started by first uninstalling the Realtek Audio Console app from the start menu.

  1. Then I went to GitHub to download the latest release of a Realtek UAD driver mod: https://github.com/pal1000/Realtek-UAD-generic/releases (warning: installing this mod could cause Windows to crash.)

  2. I then extracted the downloaded zip file using 7zip, and executed setup.cmd with Administrator rights (right click, Run as Administrator)

  3. Let the setup application do it's job and press enter every time it needs input (you will be prompted)

  4. After the installation of the driver has finished, reinstall Realtek Audio Console from the Windows Store from this link.

  5. Now start the Realtek Audio Console application, it should start up just fine from now on.
